Retro Furniture for Your Bar: The 1950’s Retro Bar Table
Tuesday, December 18th, 2007
You know those Broadway musicals based on high school life in the 1950’s, where spontaneous dance scenes break out in small diners? First the guy gang starts singing and dancing, only they’re too made up and perfectly coiffed to really look like a gang. And then the girl gang joins in, only they dance far too well on stiletto heels to be real gang members. Then the guy leader and the girl leader realize they’re in love, only she’s really a good girl underneath it all, so hijinks and heartache ensue. And then there’s one big, final dance scene. In a diner.
My point is that this table looks like a prop from one of those diner scenes. It’s so retro that it comes full circle and somehow becomes modern again. It would look equally stylish in old-fashioned burger joints or modern bistros. Add a brightly lit jukebox for that perfect retro effect. Or order the table in black and chrome for a sophisticated, artsy look.
